Thule Pack 'n Pedal Commuter
Thule · Premium commuter rugzak· €120.00
Our verdict
The definitive premium commuter pack for the no-compromise rider. For most people Vaude or Ortlieb is the smarter value pick.
Detailed review
The Thule Pack 'n Pedal Commuter is the premium combination of what Ortlieb and Vaude each offer separately: waterproof roll-top and padded laptop sleeve. €120 gets you a backpack that makes no compromise — laptop stays dry and shock-protected.
The integrated rear light mount is a smart detail: a Knog Plus or CatEye Rapid clips directly to the pack, no extra bracket needed. The magnetic quick-close on the side gives access to phone or keys without opening the whole roll-top — handy for commuters constantly grabbing their OV-chipkaart.
The only real downside is price: at €120 you expect the best, and you get the best, but the Ortlieb (€110) and Vaude (€90) do 90% of the job for less. For riders who want premium build quality and don't feel the extra €30, the Thule is the definitive choice.
Who is this for?
- Serious commuters with expensive laptops and heavy rain routes
- Riders wanting no compromise between waterproofing and laptop pad
- Thule loyalists
What to watch out for
- Some find €30 over Ortlieb too much
- Heavier than minimalist alternatives
