SKS Topcage
SKS · Standaard bidonhouder· €8.00
Our verdict
At €8 the smartest pick for pure race/MTB use where adjustment isn't needed.
Detailed review
The SKS Topcage is what it claims: a solid standard cage from German SKS. €8 gets you a 38 g polyamide cage that lasts for years — compare that to a Tune carbon cage (€60, 18 g) and the value case is obvious.
The polyamide has one important advantage over carbon: instead of cracking under a crash or a too-tight bottle, it flexes and recovers shape. Especially for MTB or gravel use that's a real plus. It fits all standard 74 mm bottles (Podium Chill, Tacx Shiva, Elite Fly) and every frame with standard cage bosses.
Downsides are minor: not adjustable like the Topeak Modula Java, so no coffee cups or thermos flasks. The glossy finish scratches after months of frequent swaps. For pure race or MTB use where every gram counts and you know what bottle you'll use, it's the smartest pick at this price.
