Tacx Shiva 750ml
Tacx · Standaard sportbidon· €5.00
Our verdict
The €5 reference bottle for riders who don't need luxury. Functional, reliable, Dutch heritage.
Detailed review
The Tacx Shiva is what it is: a cheap, reliable default bottle from Dutch firm Tacx (now part of Garmin). For €5 you get 750 ml — almost 20% more than a Podium Chill — in BPA-free plastic that goes in the dishwasher.
The trade-off: no insulation. On an Achterhoek summer ride at 25°C your water is lukewarm within half an hour. For short commutes or winter rides where cool water doesn't matter, it does exactly what's needed. The push-pull cap leaks occasionally over bumps — not for technical MTB work.
For riders wanting multiple bottles for long tours (two cages on a gravel bike) this is the standard pick: buy 4, use 2, lose 1, always have a clean spare. Against the Specialized Big Mouth (€10) or CamelBak Podium Stock (€12) you save up to 60% with no daily-use compromise.
Who is this for?
- Commuters riding only one-way + return
- Riders who want multiple spare bottles
- Budget-conscious cyclists
What to watch out for
- No insulation — not for hot summer rides
- Push-pull cap leaks occasionally over bumps
