Invoxia Bike Tracker

The gap between Bluetooth trackers and real GPS trackers becomes clearer in the Netherlands every year, and the Invoxia Bike Tracker is the textbook example of the second category. Instead of relying on a passing iPhone by chance, this tracker contains a full GPS module combined with 4G LTE-M (the low-power IoT network run by KPN, T-Mobile and Vodafone in the Netherlands). The result: continuous location updates regardless of where your bike is — including rural Drenthe or the Vlieland ferry. The form factor is clever and typical for this price: the tracker looks like a standard rear reflector that mounts under the saddle. Stealth? Mediocre — a seasoned Amsterdam bike thief recognises the shape by now, and photos circulate on known forums. If you want true stealth, alternatives like the Tracefy MH (hidden behind the luggage rack, paired with Bike Hunters' 90 percent recovery rate) or the PowUnity BikeTrax (integrated into Bosch and Shimano e-bike batteries) hide better. Invoxia's big advantage, however, is price: at €99 including three years of subscription you sit well below Tracefy's €170 plus €48 a year or the Vodafone Curve's ~€90 plus subscription.

The real difference from an AirTag becomes obvious in a theft scenario. Where Apple warns the thief after 8 to 24 hours through anti-stalking alerts, the Invoxia keeps transmitting quietly — you get push notifications the moment the bike moves, a movement trail in the app and (with an add-on fee) integration with Bike Hunters for physical recovery. For Dutch insurers this is the tracker class that actually earns a discount: ANWB, Centraal Beheer, ENRA and Kingpolis regularly give 10 to 20 percent premium reductions for a continuously active GPS tracker, though ANWB in particular still demands Kiwa SCM certification for expensive bikes — something the Invoxia itself does not carry.

Honest limits: the 'up to six months' battery life is the optimistic marketing claim — in practice three to four months is realistic with normal use and motion alerts on. The IPX4 rating is enough for rain but not submersion, and after three years you slide into a paid subscription that Invoxia has quietly priced around €3.99 a month. For daily use on a €2,500-plus e-bike it nevertheless remains the best price-performance ratio on the Dutch market.
