POC Aspire
POC · Premium racebril met Clarity· €120.00
Our verdict
For the optics-aware roadie the smartest premium pick at €120.
Detailed review
The POC Aspire is the sport eyewear for riders who put optical clarity above brand cachet. The Zeiss Clarity lens sits at the top of cycling eyewear — colours are more natural and contrast holds sharper in dim light than most rivals.
The anti-fog coating works in practice during hard efforts on the Cauberg, Pyramide van Austerlitz or a Heuvelrug loop where you're really gasping. The wide field of view without a top frame makes scanning in group rides easier than an Oakley Sutro.
For anyone who wants a brand identity other than Oakley and prefers Swedish minimalism, this is the logical choice. Versus the Sutro you save €35 and get better optical clarity; lose Prizm styling and oversized coverage. Versus the 100% Speedcraft you win optics and POC name; lose €10.
Who is this for?
- Cyclists prioritising optics over branding
- POC Ventral helmet wearers (perfect pairing)
- Fans of minimalist Swedish design
What to watch out for
- Store in hard case — frameless lens scratches
- Not ideal for strong prescription wearers
