AXA Basta Rear Kickstand
AXA · Enkele standaard· €15.00
Our verdict
The right replacement for a regular city bike under 20 kg. For an e-bike: buy something else.
Detailed review
The AXA Basta is the stand fitted to new Dutch city bikes for years, and at €15 a sensible replacement choice. For a regular omafiets or city bike under 20 kg it works fine — adjustable length for 24-28 inch wheels and simple side mounting with the included bolts.
What it can't do: keep an e-bike upright in a 6-Beaufort gust at the station. A single leg simply has no resistance against side load on a 27 kg bike. For a Gazelle Chamonix or Batavus Finez this is the wrong choice — look at the Ursus Jumbo instead.
For its purpose — a light city bike — it's unbeatable on value. Against the Pletscher Single (€20) you save €5; against a no-name (€8) you get AXA reliability and easy replacement parts. Honest advice: this isn't an upgrade, it's a like-for-like replacement when your old stand breaks.
Who is this for?
- Standard city bikes and omafietsen under 20 kg
- Like-for-like replacement of a broken AXA stand
- Budget riders with a light bike
What to watch out for
- Not for e-bikes — choose a double-leg stand
- Unsafe in station-side gusts
