Detailed review

The SAMEBIKE MY275 is the 'middle-man' of our budget line-up: not the cheapest, not the prettiest, not the most technically interesting, but a solid no-nonsense commuter at €749 with complete basic equipment. For someone who simply wants to cycle to work or the station every day without premium demands and without technical quirks, this is a predictable choice. The big difference from a Gazelle Chamonix is what you'd expect: no Bosch mid-motor, no ART-2 lock, no dealer around the corner. But for €2,250 less, you get a bike that does its job fine on flat Dutch roads.

Ride-wise the MY275 is a classic cadence-sensor experience. You pedal half a stroke, the motor kicks in at its set level, and you feel a distinct 'push' as if someone's shoving behind you — less natural than the Fafrees F20 Pro with its torque sensor, but more muscular than a pure pedelec. The 468 Wh battery delivers 40-60 km in practice on Eco, fine for a daily 10 km commute but stretched on 60+ km weekend trips. The 27.5-inch wheels roll smoothly on asphalt, and the upright position is typically Dutch-comfortable. The Shimano 7-speed derailleur shifts fine — not spectacular, but reliable. At 24-25 kg the weight is in line with rivals, just heavy enough to make stair use annoying.

Honest limits: SAMEBIKE is clearly a budget brand without the Bafang reputation of the ESKUTE or the torque sensor of the Fafrees. The reviews (4.0/5, 680 units) are positive enough but note recurring complaints about LCD failures after 12-18 months and awkward Amazon return support. At €749 these are not deal-breakers, but you shouldn't expect ten problem-free years. Without ART certification there's no insurance cover, so budget €70-100 extra for a decent lock. Pick the MY275 as a pragmatic commuter for someone who accepts an acceptable 3-5 year lifespan and consciously wants a cheap ride. For feel we'd point to the Fafrees F20 Pro; for lowest price the HITWAY BK16.
