Detailed review

The Cannondale Topstone Neo Carbon 2 is for many the definitive e-gravel bike in the Netherlands. The carbon frame brings total weight to 16 kg — under most alu rivals — making the bike pleasant to ride without assistance too. A real plus if your battery runs flat on an 80 km Veluwe route.

The Bosch Performance CX (85 Nm) is the same motor found in serious e-MTBs, and on Dutch climbs like the Cauberg or Pyramide van Austerlitz that's plenty. The 500Wh battery gives a realistic 60-80 km in Eco mode on mixed terrain — enough for half a day, tight for a full Saturday in the hills. SmartSense (integrated dynamo, front and rear lights with automatic sensors, rear radar for overtaking traffic) is Cannondale's most practical add-on.

Versus the Giant Revolt E+ Pro (€4299) you pay €1200 more for carbon, SmartSense and Lefty fork. Versus the Specialized Diverge SL (€6500+) you save €1000 and gain SmartSense. For riders prioritising premium build and low weight, this is the smartest pick.
